Bradleys, Huddersfield

They cleverly sent youngest son a £5 voucher to celebrate his birthday at their restraurant so I snaffled it and wheeled the entire family (what's left of it) off to Bradleys expecting a hefty bill.Greeted by a friendly maitresse d' who invited us to the bar where no doubt we would all buy a drink at inflated prices. I refused of course but the youngsters in the party all ordered something exotic at £3 a throw. But then after reading through the menu in a desultory fashion we chanced upon the blackboard. 2 course meal with half bottle of house wine for £14-95, 3 courses a bit more. I pointed everyone at this and we all ordered something from it. A good selection - pate, soup, salads for starters and steak, duck, lamb Henry for mains. Desserts also good. Wine branded as Bradleys but probably from Minervois. All in all it was a pretty good do. The food was well prepared, service was attentive; Nice warmed bread with many varieties; butter supplied.Everyone was well fed and happy. I mentally prepared myself for a bill approaching £200 and was pleasantly surprised to only be asked for £105. Quickly slipping in the voucher brought the bill down to under £100. Very good value for 6 people with 3 bottles of wine and everyone completely satisfied.Only downside is the website. When my friend was told it was Bradleys for tea she instantly looked for the menu on the web. It wasn't there. There were details of "our fantastic promotions in March" (but this was July!) and amazingly there wasn't any address or a map as to where the restaurant was. You had to look hard to find a phone number.
