Rave reviews from others so we tried it for a birthday treat. 5 course tasting menu for £42-50 each. Wine extra.

Cappucino of roast vegetables served ina coffee cup. Tasty but tempting to say cupasoup.
Coarse duck paté rolled in parma ham with madeira gelatine jelly strip, diced apple and cherry brioche
Salmon topped with puréed spinach and carrot strands sitting in a thick luscious sea food stock
Venison sitting on top of english mustard stripe with cherry & chocolate sauce. Mash and veg.
Apple tart with crispy apple rings, apple terrine, apple & mint sorbet plus 5 orange dots probably fruit purée

First impressions were that the presentation was outstanding. Served on blue slate or in a huge deep white bowl. Everything cooked to perfection. Second impressions were that it wasn't enough. The duck, salmon and venison were very small portions. If we'd not eaten bread (and more bread) we'd have gone away hungry.

I asked partner if she'd go again and she said no. I would. But compared to Stroom which is equally as good but with bigger portions the value for money is questionable. I have a feeling that eating a la carte might mean bigger portions as it was a tasting menu and I also think we would have paid less for 3 normal courses than for 5 tasting ones.

Worth going once to see if you like fine dining. Everything about the place was good but I almost needed a snack when I returned home.
