Tasca, York

Last tapas was in La Rochelle so it was nice to be invited to another tapas lunch. £4-95 for three dishes each. One large and one small glass of red wine, They charged for the bread - when will people learn in the UK? I remember a time in France when a fellow diner sent back the bread because it wasn't fresh...

Standard stuff but well done. Chorizo, house meatballs, seafood fritata, tuna salad, crispy chicken and something else that I've actually forgotten but I think it was another salad. Choice of bread so we chose basic which turned out to be baguette and ok.

Waitress poured out a saucer of olive oil and trickled some balsamic de modena into it so we dipped our bread until the tapas arrived.

Nice conversation, nice friendly resto, no pressure. I really enjoyed it. £20 for two. Afterwards strolled through the streets and bought a souvenir. Lovely way to spend a few hours on a day off. Will do it again soon but look for meze next time.
