Caesar Salad

O Sole Mio, Huddersfield

Disappointing. My friend suggested it as a 'good' italian but it failed to hit so many easy targets. Antipasto misti seemed to have been thrown at the plate from a distance. No style or art at all. Quality was OK but nothing that really said they'd thought about it.

We ordered a bottle of house red and it turned out to be a litre bottle when I thought a bottle was a bottle...

Two pizzas - I asked for my pepperoni to be hot so a few chilis were added but no climate change was apparent.

A salad that appeared on the table which I thought was complementary until I saw £2-30 on the bill for a bit of lettuce and cucumber (but quite a nice dressing)

The ultimate insult was the automatic adding of 10% to the bill as service charge. I complained and they took it off saying over and over again that it was on the menu.

Fortunately my fellow diner was good company and although the restaurant was below par it was a nice evening out. Unfortunately another resto that was taking it easy, taking the money and consequently taking itself off my list of decent places to eat.
