Travel Lodge, Belfast

Very rare that I review a restaurant/bar without eating but this one deserves it. returning after a hard day at work I felt like a beer at 5pm. The bar/Cafe as they call it was padlocked shut. Not just shut but padlocked as if they were expecting trouble.

7-30pm and time to eat produced a restaurant with tables for 50 diners and not one person eating. A glance at the menu outside showed why. Choose from 3 starters, 3 mains and a pud. I suspect the meals were cooked in the restaurant downstairs (Olio) and brought up the back stairs. I went elsewhere.

9-30pm and in need of a beer to finish the evening I went back. The barman arrived seconds after I did to an empty bar.
"Pint of..." I began.
"Sorry sir we only have bottled beer".
"How much for a bottle of stella?"
"£2-70 sir"

I went elsewhere again. Add the random ripple effect wall paper, the warped furniture, the lack of daylight in the room and for £69 it was one of the worst hotel/restaurant/bars I have been in. Never again.
