Caesar Salad

Our House, in the middle of our street

Romaine lettuce (59p), Tesco caesar salad dressing (£1-18), croutons, made from existing slice of white bread (0.9p), parmesan shavings from existing block of reggiano (5p). Absolutely gorgeous. No fancy this or trendy that. For under a quid a quality salad. Eat your heart out Belfast. 11/10

Scalini, Belfast

No Caesar salad on the menu. Brilliant décor, nice house wine, perfectly adequate fried goats cheese followed by Duck. 7/10

Villa Italia, Belfast

Another disappointment. The Caesar Salad has usual stuff plus a tomato, a cucumber, black olives and three chives to top it off. What's wrong with a simple salad guys? More clumps of bacon. The piccante pizza also very soggy, pepperonis very soft - no tang at all. I'm fast adding Belfast restaurants to places I won't visit again. Fortunately there are still many to try. Salad 5/10. Pizza 5/10

Speranza, Belfast

Average Pizza, they do have Caesar salad on the menu but it’s clogged up with bacon lardons. What I thought was piece of lollo rosso turns out to be a huge clump of bacon bits. Salad 5/10 Diavolo Pizza 6/10. Not very hot at all despite extra jalapenos.

Cafe Paul Rankin, Belfast International Airport

They don't do Caesar Salad - shock horror! However they do provide for £3-95 good quality toasties. Usually with chicken and often with pesto or cheese or onions. It seems to vary from day to day. You also get ordinary salad (boo hiss) with dressing and Tortilla chips and sometimes depending on their mood coleslaw. Add a glass of expensive red wine and it's a feast fit for a ferret. C'mon Paul start doing Caesar! 8/10 for the food

Pizza Express, Bedford Street, Belfast

Brilliant. The right balance, anchovies in addition to the basics but I ate it all. 9/10. The pizza Americano hot was also very good. 9/10. Disappointed to be sat in a no smoking area one metre from a smoker.

Jury's Inn, Belfast

Caesar salad had the usual ingredients plus bacon and hard boiled egg. Lettuce too thinly shredded, too many croutons, not enough dressing. Left the bacon and the croutons. Charged me for a chicken caesar salad even though I only asked for a standard one. Score 4/10. Steak and wine 6/10. Poor do.
